I used this code reader for the purpose of finding the diagnostic problems on my toyota camry. Overall, it's a useful diagnostic tool that does save you some money. it comes with a cable and software that connects to your computer to produce the diagnostic report and possible solutions (yes, an exact solution is almost never presented--rather several "possible" ones are.) The software uses a web-based link. when you access it, you are asked to enter your vin number, plate number, and other diagnostic questions. As I already mentioned, the software only gives you a basic diagnostic report. If you want a detailed repair solution report, you need to pay additional money. And, even then, the specific problem is never identified. Instead, your list of possible solutions is ordered down from "most likely" to lesser likely. I'm giving this four stars as the "most likely" solution listed--though it lacked concrete details and was a little too broad in its description--did fit what the mechanic told me. However, if you're thinking of saving money and repairing your car yourself, don't bother with this and get a more expensive code reader.
